The album "Del Otún & el Mississippi"

The "Eje cafetero" or Coffee Belt, is the region in the middle of the coffee crops in Colombia and is one of the most rich and diverse regions in Colombia not just its nature but also culturally; this is the land of Carlos Elliot, who for fourth time returns to the studio, this time again in the USA to materialize the same feeling that has inspired many before him.  Along with producer and guitarist Bobby Gentilo, they managed to gather the legacy of a wealthy land and a track list with a new dancing rhythm that will take the audience on a trip to a place full of mountains, rivers and soul.

The only name that could describe this new record was: “Del Otún y el Mississippi”, It's the joyful rhythm in Hill Country Blues and the traditions that Elliot adopted from North Mississippi near rivers and hills where he permeated his expression.  These experiences were the base to tell the stories in songs.  He got to know about a land and a culture that is not that different from that which he shares with his people in Pereira, near to the Otún river.

The record is available "Pre-Order" in CdBaby and iTunes.

We share the video of our new song “Katrina the Mule”, first single of the album “Del Otún & el Mississippi”, Carlos Elliot Jr. & The Cornlickers. The song has reached the #2 on Radionica's national Chart in just its second week of being released.

The video tells a lovely story of a bluesman of the Colombian Hill Country, his wife and Katrina his mule. The video was recorded near Pereira in the Colombian Hills, South America.
